Seasoned Together Session #1
Tue. 14 Jul, 2026 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Could you turn a basket of mystery ingredients into a community favourite? Think: "What can I make with what's already in my pantry?"
We're looking for three teams to take on the first Seasoned Together: Mystery Ingredient Challenge! Each team will include:
- One youth (under 18)
- One adult (18+)
How it works:
On the morning of the event, each team will receive a selection of mystery ingredients.
Teams will have 90 minutes to work together to create a delicious dish using the ingredients provided. Participants are welcome to use cookbooks, online recipes, or their own creativity to develop their meal.
Ingredients will be supplied, but teams must work within the cooking equipment, utensils, oven, and stove space available at the facility. A tour of the kitchen will be provided prior to the challenge.
Each team will prepare enough food for approximately 20–25 community members to sample. Think casseroles, one-pot meals, or other dishes that can be served in tasting portions.
A food safety certified supervisor will be on-site throughout the challenge, and community judges will sample each dish and vote for their favourite.
As a bonus, recipes from all three teams will be featured in the Middleton Seasoned Together Cookbook.
No professional cooking experience is required—this is a fun community program focused on creativity, teamwork, and making the most of everyday ingredients.
Please note that photographs will be taken during the event for promotional materials and the cookbook. Participants must be comfortable being photographed.
This is just Session #1. We will be hosting eight challenges throughout the program, so if you aren't selected this time, there will be plenty of future opportunities to participate.
Session #1
Date: July 14
Location: Middleton Fire Hall, 49 Church Street
Start Time: 3:30 p.m.
Community Judging: 6:00 p.m.
