Wildfire season in Nova Scotia runs from March 15 to October 15.
The Province's Check Before You Burn program provides daily updates on burn restrictions at novascotia.ca/burnsafe or by calling 1-855-564-2876.
During wildfire risk season (15 March to 15 October), no domestic brush burning or campfires are allowed between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. During wildfire risk season, burn restrictions are updated daily at 2:00 pm (you also need to follow your area's municipal bylaws).
If you see a wildfire, call 9-1-1 immediately. To report illegal burning that is not an active wildfire, contact the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources at 1-800-565-2224.
