Middleton, NS – At the July 20, 2026 meeting, Middleton Town Council approved a one-time increase of $6,150 to its 2026-2027 operating contribution to the Annapolis Valley Regional Library (AVRL).
The increase brings the Town's total contribution for the current fiscal year to $18,450 and is intended to help support the continued operation of library services while the AVRL Board and its municipal partners continue discussions regarding the library's long-term financial sustainability.
Council recognizes the important role the Middleton branch plays in the community, providing access to books, technology, programming, and welcoming public spaces for residents of all ages.
The one-time funding increase reflects Council's commitment to supporting local library services while broader funding discussions continue with municipal partners.
