Municipal partners in the Annapolis County region have released two new plans that outline their shared commitment to building communities that are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming for everyone. These plans provide a clear roadmap for strengthening services, removing barriers, and ensuring all residents can participate fully in community life.

pdf The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Plan 2026 to 2029(8.67 MB)  focuses on creating respectful and equitable environments across municipal operations and community programs. Developed collaboratively by the County of Annapolis, the Town of Annapolis Royal, the Town of Middleton, and the Village of Lawrencetown, the plan identifies priorities such as inclusive policies and services, fair employment practices, and ongoing education and awareness initiatives that support a culture of belonging throughout the region.

pdf The Joint Accessibility Plan 2026 to 2028(3.92 MB)  outlines practical actions to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for people with disabilities. It addresses accessibility in municipal buildings, programs, transportation, communication, and customer service, and reflects input gathered from residents, staff, and community partners. Together, these coordinated efforts demonstrate a regional commitment to improving accessibility and ensuring that municipal services and public spaces can be used by everyone in the community.
